In the early 80’s when I began experimenting with tensegrity structures, designing toys seemed a good way to build a business. I started with the Skwish and over the next 20 years designed dozens of toys based upon tensegrity.
The Skwish is made of painted wooden dowels, beads and elastic cord. It was originally manufactured in Victoria BC. In 1997 Manhattan Toy purchased the license to manufacture it and moved operations to Thailand. Over 4 million have been sold worldwide and it has won numerous international toy and design awards.
